Doyenne Nurse Practitioner
Mini Fellowship
Commencing in 2023

Doyenne’s Mini-Fellowship for Nurse Practitioners is meant to support and boost the presence of female nurse practitioners in the Houston region. By partnering with the University of Houston and the medical personnel recruitment company, Medical Edge Recruitment, Doyenne seeks to provide financial support to our Nurse Practioner fellows, provide leadership training that will support them throughout their careers and connecting our fellows with high-level job placements upon their graduation.
The University of Houston, being in the community in which Doyenne Initiative and Medical Edge Recruitment’s main offices are based, and being one of the most diverse campuses in the nation, was a natural partner for the Nurse Practitioner Fellowship program.
Through the elevation of female nurse practitioners, we hope to inspire a generation of female medical professionals who are inspired by our fellows.

Nurse Practitioners
A nurse practitioner, also known as an advanced practice nurse (APN), is a registered nurse who has had additional training in a specialized area, such as pediatrics or family practice. Nurse practitioners can work alone or with other medical professionals. They usually practice in clinics and doctors' offices, but can also be found in healthcare centers, hospitals and care facilities.
